Held from 7 to 14 October, Seoul’s Smart Life Week brought together more than 100 mayors, some 140 companies. Participants from 64 countries contributed to high quality debates and solution displays (and an exciting dose of K-pop), with an audience of over 20,000. All under the aegis of Seoul’s Mayor Oh Se-Oon.
I was honored to offer the opening keynote to the event’s conference on ‘Smart City Performance Sharing’. I insisted on the fact that smart cities are reaching a turning point that will require a positive redefinition of their purposes and characteristics, as well as an upgrading of the tools we need to assess their performances.
During the same event, fascinating presentations were provided by representatives from the cities of Odense (Denmark), Sao Paolo (Brazil) Medina (Saudi Arabia) and Seoul (Republic of Korea). All under the masterful moderation of Pr M. Jae-Moon (Yonsei University).
